1. Think of a niche topic. It is a specific or narrow topic that you write about and focus on in your blog. This helps a lot because through this you will develop a loyal following. People who are interested about your niche topic will always go back to you to see what you have to offer. If you do not develop a niche topic, your blog may look too scattered and without direction. Initially people may visit you but eventually they will get tired of reading your blog if they see other things there that are not interesting to them.
2. Write interesting posts about your niche topic. Make sure that what you write are informative and accurate. If you write bluffs, your readers will see right through it.
3. Blog regularly. You have to update your blog with new posts often. This is one way of keeping people interested in your site. If your posts are far in between, you will not be able to have a loyal following.
4. Promote your blog. One way to generate traffic is to promote it. It's like any other product that needs to be advertised to sell well. You can promote through your friends or by creating a link to it in your social network site.
5. Interact with your readers. When they give comments, it would be nice to give a reply. This will show them that you care and you have them in mind when you write your entries.
